About

✦ ✦ THERAPEUTIC PERSPECTIVE ✦ ✦ Welcome, wise one. Being here, you are already taking steps toward caring for yourself. We all have valuable inner wisdom and can adapt and grow in the face of hardship. Sometimes we can benefit from a therapist's help to tap into these natural superpowers. Are you looking for a supportive outlet to explore your thoughts, manage trauma reactions, or maybe a place to talk about life's stressors? Maybe you are looking for guidance on building healthy patterns for a better mood, or simply wanting to improve your self-awareness or stress management skills. I'm here to help. To get the process started press "Contact" above and indicate you want to schedule an introductory call or submit your question(s). ✦ ✦ THERAPY STYLE ✦ ✦ As a therapist, I create a space that's nonjudgmental and compassionate, encouraging self-reflection and growth through collaboration (working together). My approach integrates various theories and methods to make our work together individualized to your needs. Okay, so what does that actually look like? What I have found is that some combination of the following things often helps clients reach, or move toward, their mental health goals: ✧ A SPACE for venting, emotional processing, and exploring patterns. ✧ THOUGHT STRATEGIES to examine the impact of our internal voice on our mood. ✧ LEARNING about the nervous system and how our experiences and habits affect emotional regulation. ✧MINDFULNESS TECHNIQUES for grounding, calming and strengthening. Above all, my aim is to provide support and meet you wherever you are in your journey. ✦ ✦ TRAINING & EXPERIENCE ✦ ✦ I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), holding a Master's degree in Social Work and specializing in mental health therapy. I also hold a degree in Public Health, which informs my perspective on health behavior change, the social determinants of health and health equity. To me, being a social worker and public health professional means a dedication to social justice, honoring people's uniqueness and right to make their own choices, and recognizing the resilient capacity we all possess. To keep up to date with my practice methods I engage in ongoing learning and trainings. Throughout my career I've primarily provided services to children, families, and young adults. A significant portion of my time has been dedicated to serving foster care-involved youth, LGBTQ+ folx, immigrants and individuals with disabilities. Please feel free to ask me more about my perspective and career history in our intro call and as we begin our work together. ✦ ✦ FAQs ✦ ✦ ✧ HOW DO I GET STARTED?
